Pupils at John Kyrle High School showed they have talent in abundance by organising and taking part in two major fundraising events before Christmas. Bradley Reynolds, Daisy Canham and Manpreet Shergill organised a JKHS Has Got Talent show and Chris Stonage organised a Pool competition and together they raised over £1,200 for the UNICEF fund for the Yemen.
Also helping were Jack Morgan, Alfie Weyman and Tyler Griffiths.
Audition were held for the 40 pupils who entered the talent competition, there were 12 semi-finalists and then the four finalists performed on Thursday, December 20th in front of a sell-out crowd in the school hall.
Will Mansfield, Gracie Jones, Tobias Marshall de Silver and Chloe White all produced excellent performances.
The judges, Joe Ducker, Thomas Hodgekiss and Neil Pritchard were impressed by them all. They said Will was the ‘Whole Shebang’ who showed no nerves as he used every bit of the stage and had an amazing vocal range. They agreed that Gracie had overcome her initial nerves to give a powerful performance. Although a couple of the judges claimed they could not really understand T Bag’s rap song they agreed it was a ‘legit’ performance. And they said Chloe, who only discovered she was singing that day gave new meaning to her song.
Bradley Reynolds who hosted the show thanked everyone who attended and Mr Hotchkiss whose passion for the charity had encouraged them to take on the challenge.
