The ukactive and Matrix Flame Awards 2016 were announced on Wednesday, June 29th at the Ball of Fire, in front of an audience of 800 delegates from across the UK health and fitness sector. Ross Swimming Pool overcame competition from across the UK to be shortlisted for Leisure Centre of the Year award.

Sian Thomas, Centre Manager at Ross-on-Wye said:?“Although we didn’t walk away with the overall prize, we feel so proud to have been nominated and recognised by such a prestigious event.

“When we invested over £2m into the centre’s recent refurbishment, we knew we had created something special and the feedback from the local community backs this up. But to be nominated for the leisure centre of the year is just something else. The team and customers are truly delighted and proud to be recognised in this way.”

The Ball of Fire is the finale of the annual Flame Conference, ukactive’s biggest networking and educational event of the year, attended by key decision makers and senior management from across the entire sector.
