Members of the Helping Ross Together group have told the Gazette that they are incredibly grateful to the local community for their support and generosity.

The group, which formed on Facebook in November, is spearheaded by local residents Daniel Lister, Nicole Flitton, Hannah Lerego and Sarah Williams, but more than 300 people have joined as members.

The group offers help to individual people, who are in need of some assistance, as well as several local charities, including the Ross Food Larder, SHYPP, West Mercia Women’s Refuge, and Age Concern.

The group aims to connect those who are in need of some help, with those who are able and willing to give it.

Nicole told the Ross Gazette that they have been overwhelmed with the positive response that they have received so far from local residents.

The group has also attracted coverage from other news organisations. Following an interview with Free Radio, an organisation called Project Linus UK contacted Nicole and offered to provide her with blankets and quilts to send to the Women’s Refuge. These donations from Project Linus will be sent to Helping Ross Together throughout the forthcoming year.

Nicole Flitton told the Ross Gazette that they hope to keep up the momentum, and carry on working hard throughout 2017.
