ROSS Photo Club recently held a print competition on the theme of ‘Lines’ with submissions taken on digital cameras and smartphones.

With over 40 entries, the judge, Colin Wallis, had a difficult task to undertake.

Mr Wallis is a member of Beacon Camera Club in Malvern and is a well-known competition judge. He gave club members very constructive feedback on all entries both for the colour section and the mono section.

The colour photo section winner was Tanya Carrington with her image of Warped Worship. The runner up was Barbara Nash’s Train Station while Darion Churchill was third with his picture of In-Line Pylons. Highly commended in this section were John Ryland and Allan Ockenden. Commended were Paul Dowgill and John Crowland.

The winner of the Mono Section was Chris Phillipson with his Architect’s Lines. The runner up was John Ryland with his photograph of To the Trains while Sandra Walding was third with her image of Toeing the Line.

Highly Commended in the black and white section were Tanya Carrington and John Ryland. Sandra Walding and Brian Challis were commended for their efforts.

Ross Photo Club meets on Wednesday evenings at Walford Village Hall, 7.30 – 9.30pm. There are free tester sessions for new members. Beginners and accomplished photographers are all welcome.

The club welcomes anybody interested in photography, whether that is using a phone, a simple camera of some of the best equipment on the market today, as photographers are using their equipment in a creative way from learning g about the new techniques from experts or listening to advice given by the club’s visiting speakers.
