ROSS Photo Club held its first themed digital image competition of the season with a competition with an all-encompassing theme ‘Forms in Nature’ with submissions being taken on digital cameras or smartphones.
With over 70 entries, the judge, Trevor James, had a difficult task to undertake.

Trevor is a member of the Rhonda Camera Club and is an Associate of the Royal Photographic Society and the Welsh Photographic Federation.

He is well known as a competition judge both at club and regional level and gave constructive feedback on all entries both for the colour section and the mono section.

The winner of the Colour Photo Section was John Ryland with his image of Moment of Glory; Gareth Nutt was the runner up and third with his composition ‘A Wary Eye and ‘Pretty Flamingo’ respectively.
Highly Commended in the colour section was Jennie O’Brien and Chris Hawkins while Barbara Nash and Gordon Hay were commended for their efforts.

The winner of the black and white / mono section was Barbara Nash with her photograph of Sunflower detail. Mike Webb was the runner up with his Oyster Mushroom and John Ryland was third with his image of Dancing in the Darkness.
Highly commended in the mono section were Barbara Nash and Allan Ockenden while Paul Dowgill and James Wilson were commended for their entries.

Ross Photo Club meets on Wednesday evenings at Walford Village Hall between 7.30pm and 9.30pm.
There are free tester sessions for new members. Beginners and accomplished photographers are all welcome.
