Madam, Through your publication can I, as Poppy Appeal Organiser for the town of Ross-on-Wye, thank everyone for their generosity in making the recent collection an even greater success than last year, I must give my sincere thanks to the number of people who worked extremely hard by giving their time to collect for the appeal either by House to House, Street Collections, in the local supermarkets or at Labels Outlet Shopping.
Once again the tremendous support that was received from local shops and establishments within the town by having static collection points was amazing and very much appreciated.
One element for the large increase in the collection this year was the tremendous assistance given by our three Cadet Forces and Guides who worked hard for two Saturdays manning the street collections, plus two senior Sea Cadets who in their time off from Technical College assisted manning the points in the Supermarkets and Labels.
