Two Ross pubs were closed at the weekend. The Crown and Sceptre, in the Market Place suddenly closed two weeks ago and, on Friday the landlord of The Charlie announced that due to staffing issues the pub would be closed for the weekend.
The popular Ross nightspot, the Charlie was not open for Halloween weekend due to staffing issues.
Maria Gooding and her husband, Andy, have taken on a pub in Stourport but have been running the Charlie as well.
However a Facebook post by Andy said that although they have been trying to leave the Charlie for some time they may reopen after the weekend. Maria told the Ross Gazette that they had been running the business for many years but wanted to concentrate on their new pub.
The Crown and Sceptre in the Market Place has been closed for sometime with no indication of when it will be re-opening.A spokesman at the Prince of Wales told the Ross Gazette last week that the pub may be closed at the weekend as it is being taken over by new management. However the pub remained open and it is expected to stay open while the take-over is completed.
