In the town centre, and in the villages surrounding Ross, a silence fell as hundreds of residents gathered to show their respects to the fallen of Two World Wars and those lost in more recent conflicts.

There were special services in churches and village halls at the weekend and then on Monday, November 11th at 11am there was a two minute silence observed by many.
