This fantastic photograph of Milwards Centenary Dinner was provided by Cynthia Williams, who is pictured in the second row, wearing the white blouse.
The photo was taken in 1957 or 1958, at William’s Central Cafe, which is now where Costa Coffee is located on Broad Street.
Cynthia told the Ross Gazette:?“Nylon stockings were expensive and still in short supply even after the war was over. Customers brought in their nylon stockings that had holes or runs in them, and we sent the stockings to the British Nylon Spinners Factory in Pontypool, where they were repaired and returned to us.”
She added: “I hope some of the people in the photo will be recognised by their families, sadly a lot of them are no longer with us.”
The Ross Gazette has some of the names of those pictured, but if you recognise anyone or would like to put names to faces, please email: [email protected] or call 01989 562007.See the full story in this week’s edition of the Ross Gazette, or subscribe to our online edition here
