Several residents contacted the Ross Gazette this week as they were puzzled about a letter they received from Herefordshire Council regarding road cleaning in Hereford.

The letter from Balfour Beatty - sent on behalf of the council - claimed the cleaning work would take place on Thursday, August 8th 2019.

However Herefordshire Council has planned the gully cleansing to take place in Ross-on-Wye on Wednesday, December 11th and Thursday, December 12th and those residents and businesses in the streets affected should have received letters giving them the details.One local business owner told the Ross Gazette: "We were really confused until we saw the post on the Ross Gazette Facebook page giving the correct information."The Ross Gazette has contacted Herefordshire Council about the incorrect letters.
