After nearly eight years of organising road runs for owners of vintage vehicles the Ross ROADies have come to the end of the road.

The group was formed in August 2010 as a non-profit-making group of vintage, and classic, vehicle enthusiasts who wanted an opportunity to enjoy nostalgic motoring while raising money for charity. They have now raised over £13,000 for the Midlands Air Ambulance, but due to ongoing health issues have decided to disband the group.

Event organiser Colin Davies told the Ross Gazette: “We are saddened to report that owing to the ongoing health issues within our Ross ROADies group, we have decided to disband and call it a day, so consequently all planned future events will not now take place.”

The total money collected at the Easter 2017 and August Bank Holiday Monday events, £1563.65 will be handed over as soon as possible.

Colin added: “Together with our previous donations a grand total of £13,863.65 has been donated to this worthy cause since we formed in the autumn of 2010. A total of which we can all be justifiably very proud.”

He also added “None of these donations woud have been possible without your help, the invaluable support of our various benefactors, and the enorous support from our families, both behind the scenes and on Road Run Days.”
