25 year old, Christian singer/songwriter, April Shipton from Ross-on-Wye, has seen her musical career go from strength to strength since she launched as an independent artist last year.

Performing at venues, including the world renowned Hay Festival in May, she has appeared on BBC Hereford & Worcester radio in recorded sessions as well as live interviews. Since then, two of her songs were accepted onto the playlist of national Christian radio stations UCB1 and UCB2, as well as online stores including iTunes, Amazon Music, Spotify and others.

In October, she celebrated finishing the final recording of her six track debut EP, and on Friday, November 10th, April announced that the highly anticipated album was available for pre-order.

April told us: “I’ve been writing and recording specifically for this album over the last 12 months and it has been a life-changing experience. I’ve developed massively as an artist, and have been just bowled over by the response from people I’ve never met – some local and some across the country.

“The EP is a collection of self-written songs that are designed to strengthen people’s faith in God and encourage them to be more bold in life!”

The upcoming EP is titled, “Wherever You Go” – a reference to a Bible verse about being bold, and a lyric from one of April’s songs.

The album art features beautiful photos of The Prospect, and the cover photo was decided by public vote on the Ross-on-Wye Notice Board Facebook page.

The release date of “Wherever You Go” depends on the public, as it will cost £400 to print and produce 300 CDs. April has launched a crowdfunding page to help with these costs, and invites anyone who shares her vision to join the mission at www.rocketfuelhq.com/april-shipton
