After a busy few months of touring, April is releasing her first single of 2018 and hopes it will be the feel-good anthem of the summer.

‘Journey On’, which is an upbeat, life-affirming pop track, hits online stores on Bank Holiday Monday, May 7th.

“It’s the perfect driving song,” April explains, “So releasing it in time for the May Bank Holidays means that folks can add it to their travel playlist and take it on the road with them.”

The 25 year old Christian singer/songwriter has seen her musical career go from strength to strength since she launched as an independent artist in 2016. From performing at the Hay Festival last May to selling her 100th CD this month, she has a lot to celebrate and the new song is no exception.

The upcoming release has already received acclaim from national Christian radio station Premier, where it had its debut airplay on April 28th. This is the fourth single of April’s to be accepted by a national radio station.

Dave Wheeler, who co-wrote the song with producer Andy Baker, summarised the feel of the track: “A summery driving song bursting with sunshine, hope, and fun.” About his songwriting radio debut, Dave said: “I’m excited that Journey On is to be played on the radio as I’ve waited a very long 55 years for this to happen, since I wrote my very first song at the age of sixteen.

“More importantly I pray that listeners will enjoy the song and find encouragement from its message of hope.”

A preview of the song can be heard at aprilshipton.co.uk/journey-on, or on April’s Facebook page at facebook.com/aprilshiptonuk.

April is currently continuing her Bigger Than Dreams tour, and welcomes enquiries from anyone who would like her to perform at their venue.
