The Courtyard and Hereford Diocese present a unique opportunity to hear from the vicars from the BBC TV show, A Vicar’s Life in A Vicar’s Life Live! this September.

The documentary series followed the life and ministry of vicars in the rugged Black Mountains, a picturesque Shropshire market town and the cathedral city of Hereford, from May to Christmas.

This joint fundraiser between the two charities allows audiences to join the Herefordshire vicars to find out what they really do all day, explore their own personal walk with God, and get the inside track from behind the scenes on the documentary.

Revd Nicholas Lowton talks about his wish for people to know as much about Jesus’s life as they do of his birth, Revd Ruth Hulse explains how the church needs to reach out to young people and Father Matthew Cashmore discusses how small acts of good change the world.

The event will also feature a guest performance from up and coming Christian vocalist, April Shipton from Ross-on-Wye.

Commenting on her involvement, Revd Ruth Hulse said:” I’ve been delighted and surprised by the response to A Vicars Life. People seem to have taken the series to heart and have been very generous in their comments. There has definitely been an increase in people talking to me about a sense of calling to ordination, which is really exciting!”

Father Matthew Cashmore’s first months as a curate featured in the series, he said: “The documentary spoke to an enormous number of people about the breadth of the Church’s work and the love of God in action. I’m really looking forward to sharing more about our Christian faith, the Church of England, and what happened after the cameras left with our audience.”

A Vicar’s Life Live! will be in The Courtyard’s Main House on Saturday 8 September at 7.30pm. To book tickets, or for more information contact the Box Office on 01432 340555 or visit: www.courtyard.org.uk.
