Madam, I believe that Mr Nelson was being a trifle disingenuous as he tried to blame the Town Council for a very minor error in the RoWToP questionnaire and accompanying leaflet, when the Council has no responsibility for developing the Town Plan.

For the past two years this initiative has been driven by a small group of Ross residents (assisted by two or three councillors) who have given up a considerable amount of their time because they want to make Ross a better place to live. An example of this is the distribution by hand of over 5000 questionnaires to residents of Ross over a one week period – with over 1000 completed questionnaires having been returned to date (many via the on-line facility).

Mr Nelson states that the two websites referred to don't exist! I am surprised, as when I keyed in HYPERLINK "http://www.ross-on-line.org.uk/questionnaire&quot">http://www.ross-on-line.org.uk/questionnaire" http://www.ross-on-line.org.uk/questionnaire">www.ross-on-line.org.uk/questionnaire (as listed at the top of the hard copy questionnaire) I was immediately able to access the Ross on Wye Town Plan and accompanying questionnaire. Furthermore, when I keyed in ww.rosstownplan.org (the term 'uk' having been inadvertently omitted on the flyer that accompanied the hard copy questionnaire) I was asked if I meant http://www.rosstownplan.org.uk">www.rosstownplan.org.uk and the RoWToP website subsequently appeared complete with the questionnaire.

I have on many occasions complained about the apathy of the residents of Ross, as evidenced by the fact that at last week's 'Policing Matters' public meeting the eight residents who attended were once again out-numbered by the Police representatives at what was an excellent forum for discussion on many subjects that concern us all). However, the fantastic response so far to the RoWToP questionnaire indicates that the residents of this beautiful town are concerned about its future!
