MADAM, I am writing to thank everyone for their generosity in supporting the Rotary Club of the Royal Forest of Dean's collections for Help for Heroes.
Our success in raising a total of £1,382 from collections outside Morrisons in Ross and Coleford Co-op came from the ready support of management and staff from both supermarkets. Also pivotal to our achievement was publicity in the local newspapers.
But, of course, underpinning this throughout was the willingness of shoppers to donate to such a worthwhile cause.
This year our final collection for Help for Heroes will be at the Lydney Tesco Store from 9am to 5pm on Saturday, November 28th.
The prime aim of the charity is to provide additional facilities to aid rehabilitation of British forces injured in war. Our casualty rate in Afghanistan remains as high as ever. There is an increasing need for additional funds to support the seriously injured. Please make a donation if you can.
