Both Ross Lions Club and Ross Rotary Club have been happy to help Ross Rowing Club’s Junior Squad in the past. So when the Club appealed for funds to enable them to purchase a Stampfli double sculling boat, Rotary and the Lions were pleased to be able to help a little more.

Torsten Pope of Ross Rowing Club said: “For the size of the Ross area we have a highly successful Junior Rowing Squad. Recently the Juniors have won events far and wide, picking up three medals representing the West Midlands in the Inter-regional regatta, and have had many wins at Monmouth, Marlow, Evesham and Blenheim Palace Regattas.”

The boat was on show at Ross Regatta and members of both Rotary and Lions Clubs met the young rowers and presented cheques to the Rowing Club President.
