The Royal British Legion’s Charity Shop was opened by the Mayor and Mayoress last week, together with the Branch President Air Cdre Vivian Warrington & Mrs Joyce Thomas MBE, also present were members of Ross-on-Wye Town Council.
Margaret Jones (Branch secretary) reported that it was a very successful day and wished to thank everyone for their support especially Mrs Iris Price who made everything possible. The shop will be open until June 7th and any donations of items to sell would be gratefully received. Tickets for the “Military Wives Concert” which takes place at the Larruperz Centre on Saturday, May 7th are also on sale. For more details please ring 01989 566301.
Margaret also added this will give everyone a real opportunity to learn about the Royal British Legion and to see how the local branch is making a difference not only to Veterans but those serving today and their dependants. Everybody is very welcome to pop in for a cup of tea/coffee served with biscuits during the time the shop is open.
