MEMBERS of the Ross and District Branch of the Royal British Legion visited Brecon to explore the Royal Welsh Museum and its fabulous Zulu War display.

Led by Steve Ferguson, the Legion’s events co-ordinator the members also undertook a tour of Brecon Cathedral, which they found was both outstanding and informative.

The visit included a trip St Mary’s Church and a visit to the ‘Longest Yarn Two: Britain at War’ an 80-metre hand-crafted exhibition, which provided a unique and immersive journey through the Second World War.

Painstakingly created by volunteer knitters and crocheters from across the world, the exhibition marks 80 years since Victory in Europe Day.

The panels chronicle life in Britain from September 1939 to May 1945, covering everything wartime related to the joy of peace.
