Two Ross Councillors have joined forces to urge residents to make more fuss if they see acts of vandalism or petty crime in the town.
Over the Bank Holiday weekend they reported graffiti on Walford Road and Wilton car park, littering around the area, and a hit and run which left Broad Street missing a bollard.
In separate incidents a window at Parkers, the hardware shop in Gloucester Road, was smashed and a piece of equipment at Ross Cricket Club was destroyed.
Councillors Mayo and Atkinson are determined to see petty crime and vandalism in the town reported and dealt with. They are concerned that with better weather and the tourist season starting there is a small group of people who are trying to spoil the town.
Ross Cricket Club fell victim to some mindless vandalism last week.
One of their three wicket covers, which the club uses to protect the pitch in bad weather, was broken and could not be moved onto the square on Friday evening, with rain forecast overnight. Looking at the damage, committee members think that someone had used the cover as a trampoline.
The police were notified on the Friday it was discovered and West Mercia Police have issued a Police Incident Number: 498-S-030513, which can be quoted if anyone has any information about the damage.
