Madam The recent report on the passing of Phillip Hart (Gazette 26th January 2011) truly lauded his "lifetime of service to Ross".
I would like to add to those plaudits as the current President of the Vaga Probus Club which Phillip served over many years as diligently and selflessly as he gave of his time and skills in other arenas.
During his Presidency he inducted me into the Club; he proved an effective Secretary over two periods; at all times he supported and encouraged the newer Club members. He was a traditionalist and liked things "done properly".
He will be missed by many for various reasons – all of them good. The Club will miss him and his wise counsel.
The Vaga Probus Club, individually and collectively, offer their sincere condolences to Phillip's family at this sad time.
