Herefordshire Council are asking for suggestions for possible designated sites for gypsies and travellers.
The council is preparing a plan which will identify sites for gypsies and travellers to live or stop over as they pass through the county.
Last year, the Ross Gazette received several reports, on many occasions, about travellers parking in the Red Meadow car park in Ross-on-Wye.
It is hoped that by establishing designated sites, this will help to address the number of unauthorised encampments, such as the Red Meadow car park, that currently take place.
The council is asking for information about any possible new sites for gypsies and travellers to be sent to them by Sunday 14 February 2016.
As required by law Herefordshire Council has assessed the future accommodation needs of gypsies, travellers and travelling show people up to 2031.
The council is now looking for suitable sites to meet this identified need and is therefore asking people to send in details about areas of land that they think would be suitable by 14 February 2016.
Information on the types of sites required and how to send information in is available here
