Madam, I am appalled that ill-informed people could suggest the Chase Hotel be boycotted. Have they no idea of the consequences of such suggestions? It is quite clear that the Chase Hotel was misled and had absolutely no choice but to proceed with the event.
It is very clear to me from management at the Chase that they are upset and dismayed that they found themselves in such an awful position. The local hotel gives a lot back to the town which most people are unaware of, whether it be prizes for draws/ a venue for the Ross Lions Bonfire Night and help with other charity events.
Ironically, the Chase had just provided, free of charge, refreshments at the Ross Sea Cadets Trafalgar Day Parade.
What a shame the hotel and their staff should suffer as a consequence of the BNP and people jumping to conclusions.
It was disappointing that the local businessman who was quoted in last week's Ross Gazette was so swift to condemn and did not put a name to his statement!
