The Dean Heritage Centre, which many Ross-on-Wye families enjoy visiting, has welcomed two new attractions, they are two Gloucester Old Spot piglets which have been donated by Adam Henson and his team at theCotswold Farm Park.
The pigs are already settling into their new environment and welcoming visitors to come along and see them in their surroundings.
To celebrate the arrival of these much loved animals, the Centre is running a great family competition and inviting members of the public to name their piglets. On offer for the winner is a free family ticket to the Dean Heritage Centre.
In order to enter simply send any name suggestions to the Dean Heritage Centre by email at [email protected] or post entries to Dean Heritage Centre, Camp Mill, Soudley, Glos, GL14 2UB.
Emma Smith, Centre Manager for the Dean Heritage Centre comments; “We’re
extremely happy to have pig’s onsite again. There has been a period of time in which we have unfortunately been without these animals, but I am pleased to announce that we can enjoy the build up to summer with these fantastic little additions to the Centre.
We really want the local community to feel like a part of the Centre and what better way to engage with the public than by helping us name our pigs. With two females onsite, I’m definitely looking forward to the unique and original name suggestions that visitors put forward.”
The arrival of these piglets is perfectly timed with yet another friendly face revisiting the DHC this summer, as they launch their new woodland trail. Back by popular demand The Gruffalo trail will be returning to the Centre, with their official launch celebration on Saturday, July 30th.
