Volunteers from many of the clubs which use Ross Sports Centre joined members of Ross Cricket Club to spruce up the centre at the weekend.

On Saturday morning Cricket Club members concentrated on pre-season preparations, ground maintenance and a pavilion spring clean. They were joined by staff from the local branch of NatWest Bank including the manager, Lee Treagus.

In the afternoon Ross Juniors FC and Ross United FC mobilised some of their volunteers to join forces with the cricketers to give the Sports Centre a makeover.

David Warwick, Chairman of Ross CC said: "It was a fantastic example of how sporting communities can work together to achieve remarkable results. Everyone worked so hard, there was plenty of friendly banter and of course a great sense of achievement at the end of the afternoon. Full story in this week's Gazette.
