Through your letters page, I would like thank the Ross Choristers who gave of their time and energy recently to present a fantastic evening of song and fun for the two key Armed Forces charities in Herefordshire, SSAFA and the Royal British Legion.

The total amount raised on the night from ticket sales and a raffle was a magnificent £1000 to be shared equally be­tween the two charities and our thanks go also to all those who attended and were so generous in their support.

The people of Ross-on-Wye and surrounding area continue to recognise the great value of the work undertaken by SSAFA and RBL on behalf of our present and past members of the Armed Forces, and their families, as evidenced by the support for this concert. Many thanks on their behalf, too, for your generosity.
