St Weonard’s Primary may be a small school, with 33 pupils, but a combined fundraising effort from all the children saw an impressive £442 raised for Cancer Research.
The children took part in their own version of the Race for Life, where they ran, walked or skipped around the large playing field at the back of the school.
Rosey Price, a parent of one of the school’s pupils told the Ross Gazette:“I think it’s an amazing achievement for the children.”
Jacky Barley organised the children’s fundraising activity. Jacky is the school’s business manager, and the Cancer Resarch Ambassador for Ross-on-Wye.
She takes part in a number of fundraising activities in the area, as well as the administrative tasks, such as banking cheques received from funeral directors when a family has requested donations rather than flowers.
