MADAM, I read in the Gazette that work has to be done on the retaining wall at Dean Hill Park, as it is in danger of collapse. Would this not be a good time for the wall to be lowered, and perhaps even the part curving round into Kent Avenue to be taken down altogether, to allow some visibility for drivers trying to exit Kent Avenue?

Drivers are confronted with traffic from their right appearing quickly over the brow of the hill, and traffic on their left hidden beneath the wall. Anyone cautiously easing out from Kent Avenue is often subjected to horns, glares and abuse from drivers on their left, who do not realise that they simply cannot be seen from the junction.

As Alton Street/Alton Road is now the main route in and out of Ross, some consideration needs to be given to this junction before there is a collision there.
