Madam, Your readers will have already guessed but here is the proof. 2012 was the wettest year on record. At Ross Weather Station we measured 1149mm (45 inches). That is 150mm (6 inches) more than the second wettest in 2000. The driest was 1960 with only 470mm (18.5 inches) so 2012 was more than twice as wet.

The graph includes a trend line which shows a slight but steady increase in annual rainfall. This has been noted by local farmers but the rain does not always come at the right time.
