While it is a mild, mostly cloudy afternoon with a few sunny spells, there is windy weather expected overnight and a yellow weather warning is in place for Thursday, January 9th.
Patchy rain will arrive late in the afternoon which will become more widespread this evening, but by midnight will tend to clear away to the north. Winds will pick up in the early hours, with a risk of strong gusts towards dawn.
A yellow weather warning is in force for Thursday, with severe weather conditions set to move in.
The Met Office said that very strong winds are expected to spread across Wales and much of England through the day, with gusts of 50 to 60 miles per hour in many areas.
Some areas may see gusts of up to 70 miles per hour.
