There was a good turnout of Town Councillors, past Mayors, and Mayors from other towns, for the annual Civic Service at St Mary’s Church when the Mayor of Ross-on-Wye and the Councillors agreed to work together for the community they serve.

Peter Nielsen, the town crier of Bromyard, and the Standards representing the Royal British Legion and other local organisations, the High Sheriff of Herefordshire and the Deputy Lieutenant Paul Deneen, led the procession to St Mary’s Church from the Market House, in bright sunshine.

The service was led by the Reverend Nick Adley and the Reverend Prebendary Andrew Talbot-Ponsonby and included readings given by the Head Boy and Head Girl of John Kyrle High School and St Joseph’s School Choir who sang ‘Make me a channel of your peace.’
