2nd Ross Guides started the summer with a trip to Switzerland.  They were joined by Guides and Leaders from 1st Burley Gate Guides to travel by coach to Adelboden in the Bernese Alps and spent the week hiking, swimming, tobogganing and using the local cable cars to reach the spectacular mountain views.

The highlights included making the traditional visit to the woodcarver’s, a walk along the Choleren Gorge which is accessed via a metal purpose-built path through a narrow gorge, a climb to see the Trummelbach Falls,  a trip to the summit of the Niessen via a funicular railway and a visit to the Guiding World Centre ‘Our Chalet’.See the full story in this week’s edition of the Ross Gazette, or subscribe to our online edition here
