Once again the Lea Show proved a great success with visitors of all ages on Bank Holiday Monday.

Organisers were very grateful that the weather was so much better than last year when the Fruit and Vegetable Show had to be relocated to the village hall due to the atrocious weather.

Dozens of dogs were entered in the popular dog show and the horse show classes proved very competitive.

Attractions in the ring also drew plenty of attention expcially the Wye Velley Axemen and Rosemarie Tree with her Exmoor ponies, which, she explained, are rarer than Giant Pandas.

Sara Gates said she was pleased that there was an increase in entries following last year and they will be going all out to make next year's show, the 70th, the best yet.

The winners of the cups and trophies for produce and handicrafts are in this week's Ross Gazette with more pictures from the day.
