LAST Saturday’s Strawberry Fayre held at St Mary’s Church in Ross-on-Wye, was bathed in glorious sunshine attracting visitors and local people alike.
Organised by Walford Church fund raising group, the fayre saw children enjoying games and activities, but couldn't wait to taste the sweet, juicy, local strawberries.
The air was redolent with the smell of the freshly cooked asparagus and bacon rolls along with sparkling Prosecco for the adults.
A range of delicious berries, cherries, asparagus, stem broccoli, peas were generously provided from nearby farms. while other refreshments included homemade cakes and cream teas.
The incredible amount of some £2,500 was raised for St Michael's Church in Walford.
Winners of the lottery prizes generously donated by Ross-based businesses will be notified shortly.
