Ross Angler Steve Seaborn is not only looking forward to the birth of his first child but also to the Grand Final of the Fish 'O' Mania XVII on July 17th, when he could be in line to win prize money of £25,000.
Steve won his place at the final on Saturday, April 17th at Warwickshire's Tunnel Barn Fisheries when he clocked up 114-7-0 from peg 7 on Extension Pool. Steve caught an F1 on his first putting in chopped worm and fished just 18 inches deep right to the island. He carried on catching ghostie at will but they slowed down in the second hour before fish from 8oz to 3lb came at regular intervals after he went even shallower.
Steve started fishing with his grandad when he was just six years old and by the time he was ten he was already taking it quite seriously. He took part in junior matches in Ross when he was 13 and 14 and then joined Lydney and Hereford Angling Clubs.
Steve, age 35, is a building surveyor, married to Teresa and their first child is due very soon. Teresa is hoping that he does well in the final as the prize money would be very welcome.
