Madam, I am sure you will agree that London 2012 was a wonderful occasion and Team GB did our country very proud. Congratulations to all competitors who displayed extreme fitness and dedication to their chosen sports. It was lovely to read that that the GB women's hockey team spent time in our region as part of their olympic preparations.

Whilst I do not blame companies like the Leadership Trust for utilising the women's team success as part of their PR, it would appear that this kind of publicity is very selective, considering that there has been neither mention nor apology for the events at the other end of the spectrum.

In particular I refer to two outdoor music events. I believe these were licensed events and would ask the person at Herefordshire Council who agreed to them to consider the residents of Weston under Penyard. It is a quiet rural location with a wide cross-section of people, including other businesses, who deserve to enjoy the peace and quiet that attracted them to this village in the first place.
