MONROSS members took part in the Dragon 10k on Sunday, March 13th. This was the second running of the event with an impressive field of runners competing around the nearby parks of Cardiff Castle.

Apart from the front runners getting lost two miles into the race, Luke James came first out of the group and fourth overall with a time of 37:30. Gavin Jones came in soon after with a time of 43.50. David James was next and Hannah James followed just behind. Ivor Jones had a good run in the V65 category and came in with a time of 72 minutes.

Elsewhere, brother and sister Brandon and Montana Fullwood took part in the Adidas Silverstone Half Marathon. This being their first event, and a training run for the London Marathon next month, their only real target was to finish.

A handful of members will be taking part in the London marathon next month. Hannah James and David James are currently raising money for the Stroke Association charity. David’s wife (Hannah’s mum), suffered a stroke in February 2015 which has left her with complete loss of vision on the right side in both eyes which is the reason they want to raise as much money as possible for the charity.

Montana and Brandon are raising money for Children with Cancer UK and the British Heart Foundation.
