St Mary’s Church, Ross-on-Wye, was delighted to host a book launch of The Rations Challenge. Claud Fullwood is known to the congregation as one of their longstanding Toast Mum’s, along with her son. The Toast Club is for carers and children to spend a little time together in the church, sharing activities and toast, of course.
Claud originally wrote a blog about a challenge she undertook to eat only WW2 rations for the whole of lent and was approached to write a book by publishers Lion Hudson.
There was a great turnout for the launch with lots of families attending to enjoy the chance to hear Claud reading from her book and reflecting on her enlightening and fulfilling Lent experience that has many implications for families and communities today in terms of how we consume and our environmental impact.
Claud generously inspired donations for St Marys and the Community Larder. The books sold out on the day but more are available directly from Claud at [email protected] or can be ordered at Toast & Toddle which runs every Wednesday from 8.45am -10.15am.See this week’s paper for more stories like this, available in shops and as a Digital Edition now.
