MADAM, OUTSIDE the recently closed down 'Priceless Shoes' shop in Broad Street, there is a Council Notification about making a permanent 24-
hour Taxi Rank opposite the recently closed down 'Eagle' pub. Within a few yards up Broad Street are two more closed down shops and then there are several closed down shops in the Maltings. So what does the council do to keep Ross alive in the town centre? Block off yet more parking spaces right in the middle of where shoppers would like to park with unwanted taxi ranks whose main business during the day is collecting shoppers from supermarkets! Once a few more local shops have closed down, they can shut the streets off altogether which will be ideal for the supermarkets and out-of-town stores.
