MADAM, Thank you to Karen Beck for her observations of the town in last week's letter page. I must agree that the town is looking very splendid at the moment, I would like to thank all the ART members and other traders who took up the offer of watered hanging baskets for their premises. The Garden Store have delivered some truly outstanding baskets and EnviroAbility are doing a great job watering them.
With regard to the car park by Pigs Alley, ART and RiB have tried to get the absentee landlord to clear it up but to no avail, I understand that one of our councillors is looking to take more serious steps to force a clean up. Hopefully all of the hard work put in by everybody to make the town look good will be rewarded with a favourable result from the judges.
Of course Ross would look even better if more people would follow Karen's example of litter picking. The one thing I have found since ART started is a few dedicated people can really make a difference. To this end I am going to organise the 'Big Ross Litter Pick' on behalf of ART, watch the press for more details or call in to see me at Truffles Delicatessen if you would like to get involved.
