ROSS LIBRARY has a new automated booking system for its public computers, as part of a software upgrade being rolled out across all 11 of the countys libraries.
But the Ross Gazette has heard that teething problems with the new system have forced some library users to endure a frustrating log-on procedure that lasts 15 minutes or longer.
The new arrangement, which was implemented in July, has been designed to allow library card holders to book their own computer sessions, either in advance via the internet, or in the library itself. Previously, they had to queue at the desk and obtain a log-on code from a member of staff.
