Local man, Colin Bennett contacted his father John of Bennett's Garage in Ross on Tuesday to say he is safe and well following the devastating earthquake that occurred in New Zealand this week.

Colin was selected to represent Great Britain as a member of the Italia Cup team, men 35 and over, in the International Tennis Federation's Seniors World Team Championships, that was to be played in New Zealand this week and next. He directly experienced the earthquake that occurred at 12.51 pm on Monday, local time.
