Tesco's plans for a multi-million pound new supermarket in Ross-on-Wye will go on display at a two-day public exhibition in the Larruperz Centre on May 10th and 11th.

Jonathan Simpson, Tesco Corporate Affairs Manager, said the company wanted as many local people as possible to visit the exhibition and express their views. "We know there is a great deal of interest in our plans for Ross-on-Wye so we are encouraging residents to join us in the Larruperz Centre where they can view the plans and ask questions of our project team.

"We respect the views of the local community and welcome comments and suggestions that can influence our proposals, before a planning application is submitted to Herefordshire Council in the summer," added Mr Simpson.

The new supermarket, off Overross Street, will feature the full range of familiar and popular food, grocery and household goods offered by Tesco. A 260-space car park with free parking for three hours and a four-pump petrol station are included in the plans.

Local employment will be given a boost with the creation of around 250 full time equivalent new jobs; positions that would be offered to local people as a priority.

Opening times for the public exhibition in the Larruperz Centre, Grammar School Close, Ross-on-Wye are: Friday, May 10th – 2.00 pm to 7.00 pm and Saturday, May 11th – 10.00 am to 4.00 pm.
