Dear Editor,

I would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who voted for me in last week’s by-election. It’s Our County was a new choice to voters in Ross and I am grateful for the support and welcome my friends and I received on the doorstep.

As someone who grew up in the town, I’m committed to making best use of my knowledge to achieve improvements for everyone here and to make sure there are genuine opportunities for young graduates so that we do not continue to lose out in the ‘drain brain to surrounding counties and the big cities. We could and should be doing things well, our own way, here in Ross.

As one of three candidates standing, I was pleased to secure nearly 30% of the votes and was disappointed not to be able to start making a difference on the Town Council straight away, but I’m already looking forward to taking part in the next by-election.

I congratulate and wish Julian Utting the best of luck. In the meantime, I’ll continue to campaign for better public transport services.
