Madam, I had a terrible house fire in my property in Henry Street, which the Ross Gazette covered (December 19th). Firstly, I would like to thank the firefighters for their bravery in dealing with this.
I could not enter the property and because of this I had no clothes. Antonio and Kerry, from Ohhhs, turned up within minutes, as did Sue Ryder who gave me a warm drink and a coat. Antonio and Kerry gave me lots of clothes, as I have lost all of my own, and the ladies from Sue Ryder have continued to be a support.
Becky and Martin, from Treasure Trove, delivered me lots of furniture for my new home, all for no money. I can't believe their kindness.
The St Michael's Hospice let my friend go and gather whatever else they thought I needed and, again, asked for nothing in return.
Essential Sewing donated cushions and money to me, and Homestyle provided utensils and plates etc.
Most of all I would like to thank Milly Boylan, from Miss In Ink Tattoos, for organising everything, and making sure, with her Mum, that I had hot meals and somewhere to stay until the Council could re-house me. I can't thank her enough. I would have been stuck without her and all the other people in Ross.
Billy Carr, Ross
