After nearly three decades of running the Chase Hotel, in the centre of Ross-on-Wye, the owners, Camanoe Estates Limited, have decided to close the hotel later this year. They blame the changes in visitors’ preferences, coupled with the very substantial cost of the upkeep of the premises, which means that it is no longer possible to trade profitably.

The hotel will close to guests on September 30th, 2019 but until then the owners told the Ross Gazette that it is very much business as usual. They said: “We will continue to offer the full facilities and services until September 30th, 2019 and we are committed to fulfilling all the function and hotel room bookings over the next nine months.”

The owners are looking to put forward a detailed planning application for development on the site this summer. See the full story in this week’s edition of the Ross Gazette, or subscribe to our online edition here
