This January, there is a diverse and exciting mix of events at Courtyard Family Saturdays with fun, free pre-activities taking place from 10.30am for the whole family to get involved with.

On Saturday, January 7th, families are invited to learn a new skill in the Stage Combat Workshop. Taught by an experienced practitioner, the workshop will be a lot of fun with a pre-activity of warm up drama games beforehand.

Adapted from the popular children’s book, Molly Moon and the Incredible Book of Hypnotism (U) (Saturday, January 14th) tells the story of Molly who learns how to hypnotise people from a book she finds in her local library. Children can create their own story book character before the film starts from 10.30am.

January’s live show is Oddly (Saturday, January 21st), based on the children’s book written by Joyce Dunbar, with a pre-activity of wooden spoon puppet making. Featuring a magical mix of puppetry, visual tricks, masks and original music, the show tells the story of a curious boy who sets off in search of three unusual creatures. To celebrate the first birthday of Courtyard Family Saturdays there will be a party after the show – tickets are free but booking is required.

The final Family Saturday of January is new children’s film Ballerina (U) (Saturday, January 28th) which follows the adventures of young orphan girl Félicie who dreams of becoming a ballerina. From 10.30am children can make their own ballerina to take into the film.

All activities will start at 10.30am and cost £6, with films costing £3 for Courtyard Club members. For full details of Courtyard Family Saturdays activities, or to book tickets, visit courtyard.org.uk or contact the Box Office on 01432 340555.
