Family and hundreds of friends came together for the emotional, but dignified funeral of Alan Wood at St Mary's church in Ross on Friday, June 17th.

When Alan moved to Ross he grew to love the town, and the whole area of the Wye Valley, and he wanted to spread the words to other people. He used his skills in photography and film to spread the message that the area was well worth visiting. Many people came to this area as a result of his website.

His partner Tina spoke at his funeral about his pride and passion for the town. She said that she knew how proud he was of Ross and he would have been delighted to know how proud Ross was of him. Read the full report of Alan's funeral in this week's Gazette.
