LOCAL author, Hilary Orme, has recently published her third children’s adventure story in the Megan Waterfield Series. Like the previous titles, ‘Past the Town of Tribulation and Straight on to Derring Do’ and ‘Red Skye Sunset’, ‘The Intrepid Trotter Malloy’ is set in Lydney Harbour, in the Forest of Dean.
In the latest adventure, you can join the Fearless Five: Meg, Boat Boy Bob, Grandma, Billy O and of course, Dotty, the Salty Sea Cat, in a tale of storms, treasure trove and a swimming pig.
Hilary was invited to talk about her books when she was a guest on BBC Radio Gloucestershire’s Nicky Price Show on April 18th. You can listen to this at www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p04z07jh, if you would like to find out more about the author and her stories.
The books are aimed at children aged 9+, and as well as being tales of adventure, with thieves, shipwrecks and hidden treasure, they also cover themes such as bullying, team work, self worth and overcoming challenges.
A competition to find the best joke about a pig, is currently open to children, on Hilary’s website, www.hilaryorme.wixsite.com/hilaryorme
The winner will receive the complete Megan Waterfield Series. All titles are currently available on Amazon.
