A few weeks ago a letter was published in the Ross Gazette from Ross Quakers extending a hand of friendship to anyone who is feeling lonely, oppressed or fearful.

The group wants to open their friendship to everyone. They feel that the world needs healing, they see sadness, sickness, tragedy, starvation, homelessness and conflict, as well as damage to the environment. And they want to offer something positive. Quakers around the country will be meeting on March 18th for a National Day of Healing. In Ross they have called it a Day of Friendship and Healing.

The Meeting House will be open from 11am – 4pm and everyone is invited to join in for a few minutes or or however long they wish. It is open for people of all faiths – or none, of all nationalities, of all ages, genders – in fact everyone. There are no officials or clergy. Everyone is equal – just like you.

There will be periods of silence for reflection or prayer when you will be able to think of those in need near and far and send loving, healing thoughts and prayers. Refreshments will be available and everyone is welcome to come and go as you are able.
